This year, Carter was prepared and spent a lot of time leading up to St. Patrick's Day thinking about better ways to catch one of those little guys. It was a family affair that spread out over two days building some fancy traps this year.
Here we are tying some fake gold coins onto strings to catch their attention.
But after some careful consideration, Carter decided that wasn't quite enough. So he and Josh spent the next night building the fanciest Leprechaun trap I have ever seen :)
The finished products! In the close up picture, you can see the sneaky trap floor holding up the gold coins. Carter is hoping that the little Leprechaun will go for the gold, and fall into the bucket under the Kleenex.
We ended up with three traps by the time we were done! The night before St. Patrick's Day, Carter spread out the traps around each of the openings into the living room.
On St. Patrick's Day the boys woke to see that their wasn't any Leprechauns in the traps, but the traps did catch their attention. Because there was green glitter on the floor and a note saying "Nice Try, you almost caught me!" along with some "gold" candies and some real gold coins :)
Here is Carter checking to see if a leprechaun was in the trap!
Now they are on FaceTime with Josh and I to show us the results :)
